Kansas Telecommunication Access Program (TAP)

LINK, Inc. is a Demonstration Center for the Kansas Telecommunications Access Program. Kansas residents with existing telephone service and income below $55,000 per year qualify for a free specialized telephone if they also have trouble hearing, seeing, speaking, remembering, walking, or holding a telephone. To apply for equipment, request a TAP application, have your disability/impairment certified and mail the application back to the address on the provided envelope or bring to the LINK, Inc. office. Faxed applications are not accepted.

You can request on the application how you would like to receive the equipment:

  1. You can have the equipment send directly to your home.
  2. The equipment can be send in care of a person you designate.
  3. You can receive a voucher and order your own equipment.

The equipment you receive through the TAP program is yours to keep. However, you are fully responsible for any service or repairs beyond those covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. It is recommended you send in any warranty cards to the manufacturer or vendor. The equipment can only be replaced every four years unless special circumstances are present and your needs change.
